This opportunity to carve a bald eagle was given with full artistic freedom. The start to this project came directly off the log splitter when an ash log, intended for firewood, split and exposed what very much resembled wings. From there the eagle took it's shape, intentionally leaving small artifacts behind to tell the story of it's beginnings.
